Plantation Shutters

Fixed panels. A permanent architectural screen.

Fixed plantation shutter panels for privacy and light control where physical access to the window is not required.

When the window does not need to open

High windows, stairwell glazing, fixed picture windows and privacy screens between rooms do not need an opening panel. A fixed shutter gives the same tilting blade control in a permanently installed frame — cleaner, more stable and less expensive than a hinged equivalent.

Because there are no hinges or tracks, a fixed panel is also the most robust option we make, and the closest thing we do to true built-in joinery.

Common questions

Fixed Shutter Panels — frequently asked

Yes. The panel is fixed in its frame, but the blades tilt exactly as they do on a hinged shutter.

Generally yes, as there are no hinges, catches or tracks — though final cost depends on size and material.

Yes — single-direction stacking or bypass configurations are both available depending on the opening.

We only recommend fixed panels where access is not needed. Where cleaning access matters, a hinged panel is the better choice.
